The mug was from the Empire State Building but the handle snapped off whilst I was drying it :(

And I'm not sure I get why a New York souvenir is made in China, seems a little unpatriotic to me.

Ah. Someone will have to strive to provide higher-quality (or at least more unusual or imaginative) gifts if they are being blogged.
